The history of Indian classical literature dates back to times unknown.
Countless theories and researches have not been able to accurately track
the origin of Indian literature. However, it is universally
acknowledged that the oldest of all literary works is the Rig Veda that
is known to have a collection of thousands of hymns and verses, dating
back to 1500-1200 BCE.
