Competing in the women's 48kg category, weightlifter Mirabai Chanu
lifted a combined 190kg, setting a new Commonwealth Games record of
85kg in the snatch before sealing the title with a 105kg clean and jerk.
Her latest triumph added to the gold medals she won in 2018 and 2022.
Weightlifter Gyaneshwari Yadav won silver
in the women's 53kg category. She is now the fourth Indian weightlifter
after Rishikanta Singh (silver), Mirabai Chanu (gold) and Raja
Muthupandi (silver) to walk away on the podium in the 23rd edition of
the Commonwealth Games.
Weightlifter Rishikanta Singh claimed silver in the men's 60kg event with a total lift of 264kg after equalling the Games record in the snatch.
Weightlifter Raja Muthupandi won silver in the men's 65kg category with a combined lift of 286kg.
Weightlifter Bindyarani Devi won the bronze medal in women's 58kg category competition at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games on 27 July 2026.
The one non-weightlifting medal also was won by para powerlifter Jhandu Kumar.
