According to different sources, Dasaratha is said to have had 3 wives, 350 wives, 60,000 wives.
Sage Parasurama had woved to kill all kshatriyas with the exception of
newly married kings who had the wedding kankan. The kankan had to
be worn for a year. So, king Dasaratha married every year in order
to escape sage Parasurama's wrath.
