Sankatahara Chaturthi
The Chaturthi (fouth) day of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) each month is auspicious for the worship of Lord Ganesha. Sankata means distress or obstacle and hara means to destroy. Worship of Lord Ganesha by observing a fast and witnessing the abhishekam to the Lord in the evening and taking darshan of the moon removes all sins and obstacles in the path of the devotee.
